You’ll hear a peculiar sound as you make your way up the stairs after picking up that sweet, sweet Skyshroom. You’ll see a creature rushing to “hug” you. It wouldn’t be a Legend of Zelda game without something weird attacking you, right?

Fortunately, you have your trusty tree branch to help you fend off this creature. Of course, it decays almost immediately, so you’ll need to learn how to dodge. Jump out of the way of an attack at the last moment to execute a perfect dodge.

After using multiple tree branches to defeat the creature, you’ll pick up a Zonai Charge, a material used as a power source for constructs and other devices. Its strange light seems to reveal potent energy inside.
You’ll also learn that breaking a weapon will cause a critical hit, so maybe you want to destroy the environment a little by breaking some tree branches over the faces of these weird constructs.
Go in the direction of where the creature came from, and you’ll see a tree with a couple of apples for health.

Continue toward the little structure to find a Wooden Stick, a tree branch with an added grip and excellent balance. Equip it, and use it as a weapon.

There’s nothing more in this direction, so turn around and follow the pathway to some ruins, where you’ll pick up another stick. A prompt will appear to teach you how to throw a weapon in Tears of the Kingdom.

Pick up the stick and some nearby Skyshrooms for health, and examine a construct nearby.

As you examine it, get ready for a wild ride because this thing opens up like a creepy jack-in-the-box. As it opens with those weird hands and an elongated neck, it makes you’re about to have your face smashed in while you have nothing on you but a pair of old pants and a stick.

Fortunately, it seems to be friendly, telling you that Princess Zelda herself left something for you in its care. The Steward Construct will open up and give you a Purah Pod that looks mysteriously like a Nintendo Switch with a blue eyeball.

Nintendo was not discreet with this product placement. Apparently, Princess Zelda’s prized device was an archaic Nintendo Switch with a cool skin.

Follow the prompt to open the Purah Pad to show your current location on a map of the current area. Tab over to the Adventure Log to show you where you need to go.

The Steward Construct will then point you to the Temple of Time, and tell you that no one ever visits there. A green circle will glow nearby.

Now that you have your totally generic main objective of rescuing a princess, examine the green circle nearby. Examining it will magically connect a bridge for you to cross.
Once across the bridge, you’ll find a tree to climb with a couple more apples, and everyone’s favorite Zelda pastime: Breaking vases.

Break some vases and have a chat with the lone Steward Construct. But be warned, this little guy has some important information to share with you. It turns out those Soldier Constructs you’ve been running into are a bit more aggressive than you might have thought. And let’s be real, folks, it would have been nice to know that beforehand, right?
The friendly construct has some sage advice for you. You see, those Soldier Constructs are just doing their job of protecting the land. So no need to take it personally when they try to smash your face in. And while swinging your weapon around like a wild beast may feel satisfying, it’s not going to be very effective against these guys. Nope, you’ll need to learn how to lock on to your enemies if you want to take them down like a pro.

Follow the prompt to learn how to lock on. And while you’re at it, the friendly construct has one more lesson for you. Unfortunately, it’s not a happy one. You see, there’s nothing this little guy can do to convince those Soldier Constructs that you’re a good guy. Nope, you’re just going to have to learn how to murder their brethren like a true hero.
The friendly construct will even let you use it to practice locking on, but asks you not to attack it (don’t be that guy).

After practicing how to lock on to your enemies, explore the rest of the tiny island for more apples, sticks, and another Zonai Charge. Once you’ve collected everything, make your way to the green ledge and jump off.

After jumping into frog-infested waters, you’ll be attacked by another Soldier Construct who mistakes you for a trespasser. Use what you’ve learned so far for locking on, throwing, and dealing critical hits to make short work of it. Pick up the items it drops and search the area for more shrooms and sticks.

As you make your way to the temple, you might get a bit side-tracked. You’ll see another small structure with a chest. Trying to sprint and jump to it doesn’t work. You’ll have to come back later.

If you want to be the worst person in the world, you can turn around to see two boulders coincidentally perched above a pair of Soldier Constructs. You can push them down to make them Pancake Constructs.

Take out any aggressive enemies in your way and make your way to the base of the temple where a Steward Construct is there to teach you about cooking.

After listening to the Steward Construct’s instructions on roasting, despite the fact that it cannot taste itself, grab a handful of mushrooms nearby and haphazardly throw them into the fire to create a Toasty Skyshroom (You can also bake apples).

Now, it’s time for you to make your way up to the larger structure, but what dangers awaits you there?
