Gameplay Walkthrough Of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Ukouh Shrine

Ukouh Shrine

The shrines in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are mini-dungeons that serve a crucial role in helping our hero, Link, progress through the game. While they may be short in length, they’re certainly not lacking in challenge or excitement. From solving puzzles to battling foes, each shrine presents its own unique set of obstacles to overcome.

Examine the entrance of the shrine to enter, and you’ll once again be met by Rauru, who tells you a little history of the Shrine. The Shrine is one of light, and reaching the light will help restore some of the abilities for Link’s new arm, which technically isn’t his.

You will receive an ability called “Ultrahand”. In Tears of the Kingdom, Ultrahand allows you to grab and move objects, rotate them, and stick them together to other objects. One of the most useful abilities in Breath of the Wild was Link’s magnesis ability. This power allows Link to manipulate metal objects in the environment, such as blocks and platforms, to solve puzzles and uncover hidden treasures. And in Tears of the Kingdom, the Ultrahand serves a similar purpose.

A prompt will appear to show you how to use the ability.

This may be your first encounter with the Ultrahand ability, but don’t worry, the puzzles within the shrine will be a breeze. The designers of the game have cleverly crafted the puzzles to be simple and straightforward, allowing you to get acclimated to the mechanic without feeling overwhelmed. You’ll be able to experiment with the Ultrahand and its various functions, getting a feel for how it can be used to interact with the environment. And while the puzzles may not be the most challenging, they still serve an important purpose in introducing you to the game’s mechanics. For the first platform, you’ll simply want to use the Ultrahand ability to bridge the gap.

The next platform is where you’ll learn how to connect two items together. Since there’s a bigger gap between this platform and the next platform, it only makes sense you’ll need a longer bridge. Use the Ultrahand ability to connect the two stone slabs together to clear the gap.

Once you’re on the next platform, you’ll see a chest in the top right corner. Unfortunately, you can’t simply use the Ultrahand ability to bring the chest down to you. That would be too easy, right? Take the slab bridge you used to get to that platform to get to the top and open the chest.

The next puzzle is a little tricky. You’ll see a wooden board and a few convenient hooks laying around. You will also see a zipline going down to the next platform. Put two and two together, both in your head and with the puzzle, to connect the dots.

Now that you have your platform device to zip down to the next area, you’ll want to quickly jump on it before it leaves without you.

Ride it down to the end of the Shrine. It’s a short shrine, but it’s a decent one for introducing players to the Ultrahand ability.

After a short cutscene, you will receive the Light of Blessing. A crystal that glows with a light that purges ancient evil and purifies with its radiance. Now, you’ve completed Ukuoh Shrine. Continue reading more for walkthrough guides for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
